Prof Thomas AUT veteran who pioneered the struggle in 1978 from St Joseph’s college Trichy passed away today (22.01.2023) at vellore in his son’s residence.

He was the president of Aut during 1978-79 and instrumental for getting job security and direct payment for aided colleges teachers. During his period the new constitution of Aut was Framed and came into force. He was the president of Aut during 1987-89 along with prof Ananthanarayan as secretary and prof Elangovan as treasurer. The backbone of many struggles for the sake of aided college teachers.
